Metal Oval Gasket
Metal elliptical gasket is a kind of metal ring gasket, which is made of metal material and has the function of radial self sealing.
Metal ring gasket is made by forging, heat treatment and mechanical processing. It is a kind of metal sealing gasket used in oil and gas pipe flange, pressure vessel, high-speed joint surface, high-temperature and high-pressure valve cover, etc. it can still maintain good sealing performance especially when the pressure and temperature fluctuate.

1 ring gasket
1.1 type
The cross section of annular gasket is octagonal or elliptical.
1.2 specifications
Ring gaskets are identified by R, RX or BX numbers.
1.3 hardness
The hardness of annular gasket of materials listed in Table 1 shall be equal to or less than the value shown in Table 1.

Note (1) may be low carbon steel, but the hardness shall not exceed Brinell hardness 90 and Rockwell "B" hardness 56.
2 mark
The outer surface of each gasket shall be marked with the manufacturer's name or trademark, and the gasket number shall be preceded by the letter R, RX or BX, and then the gasket material identification shall be marked. Material identification shall be as shown in Table 2. The gasket shall also be marked with ASME b16.20. When marking, the gasket shall not be harmful to deformation or affect the integrity of the seal.
2.1 dimensions and tolerances
Dimensions and tolerances for ring gaskets are shown in tables 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
2.2 surface finish
The surface roughness of R and Rx type gaskets shall not exceed 63 μ in. The surface roughness of BX gasket shall not exceed 32 μ in. The surface accuracy shall be suitable for the surface to which the gasket is sealed.
2.3 labeling
Dimensions of ring gasket reference marks are shown in tables 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
